21 Years of
Building What Works

From two people and a single insurance project to a fully AI-native delivery operation. Here's how it actually happened.

// Where it started

Two people. One client. Zero excuses.

In 2005, Ad Rietberg and Jacek Salek started Yameo with a single bespoke project for a Dutch insurance company. Between the two of them, they covered development, project management, customer service, and account management. No team, no overhead. Just delivery.

Co-founder
Ad Rietberg
Based in the Netherlands, Ad brought the client relationships and business instincts that shaped Yameo's commercial foundation, starting with the Dutch insurance market.
Co-founder
Jacek Salek
From Gdańsk, Poland, Jacek led the technical work from day one. His home city became Yameo's development hub. And still is today.
A Dutch head, a Polish backbone. Ad's base in the Netherlands gave Yameo easy access to Western European clients. Jacek's roots in Gdańsk gave it its engineering core. That dual identity (commercially sharp in the west, technically rigorous in the east) has been part of how Yameo works ever since. HQ in the Netherlands. Development hub in Gdańsk.

Management buyout. Move to Utrecht.
Two significant moves in one year. The Dutch office relocates to Utrecht, at the heart of the Netherlands. More importantly: Yameo's CTO and COO complete a management buyout and become the new owners. The people who built it from the inside are now running it.

Global growth
Europe, the Americas, Africa
Through a period the world found difficult, Yameo grew: revenue, team, and client base. Projects across Europe, North America, South America, and Africa. The company that started with two people in one country was now operating across four continents.

AI-native — 2024–now
2024
The shift begins
Yameo goes AI-native
Not a rebrand. A deliberate, top-down transformation of how software is delivered. Specialized AI agents, supervised by senior engineers, deployed across every phase of the SDLC. Faster delivery, tighter quality, the same accountability that's been there since 2005.
AI-Native Delivery
2026
Where we are now
Fully AI-native
14 specialized AI agents. 7-phase delivery. 5 blocking quality gates. 21 years of domain knowledge informing every decision the system makes. Same reliability, significantly more speed.
